FINALLY - Help for Overly Dry and Callused Feet with the Ped Egg..
By: Aging Fabulous    0 days 16 hours 18 minutes ago
Channel: Health & Wellness

As we are putting away the socks and panty hose to bare our legs and feet this Spring, have you noticed how dry and scaly the bottom of your feet are? I know mine build up thick calluses on the bottoms and I spend so much time - too much time - rubbing the heavy duty creams into them over the winter. I think my need for these extra-moisturizing foot creams are gone because I gave into the Ped Egg.

image

Surely you have seen this little egg shaped cheese-grater looking device on TV, in Target or your drugstore. I know I saw it. I never gave it a second thought until I had a pedicure last Friday and still had thick calluses after the nail tech spent about 5 minutes each on my heels. I knew I needed to try something and yes - I am a sucker for those seen on TV products. And seeing the huge display of them at Target, the Ped Egg it was.

I was nervous to use this little wonder at first as I thought I would tear into my skin. But it didn’t. It never did. It just felt a bit rough at first as I glided the “egg” over my foot. After a few minutes - or because I figured out just the right technique to use it, I didn’t notice much of a feeling at all. It actually felt good.

After just two or three minutes or rubbing, I opened the little trap door to discover it full of shavings. Shavings of dead skin. I know it sounds unpleasant, but I was thrilled to see how much work this little “egg” did in such little time.

Don’t hesitate to pick up the Ped Egg. It is worth every cent of the $9.99 and I will not flinch to pick up the refill’s when needed.

Packing My Bags for California!
By: Aging Fabulous    1 days 8 hours 19 minutes ago
Channel: Health & Wellness

image I am so excited to be leaving for California tomorrow. I have never been there before and I cannot wait. I will be attending the Total Beauty Blog Summit that will undoubtedly be a wonderful learning and sharing experience.

I am staying with my good friend Christina and look forward to seeing Ellen again - amongst all the other beauty blogger friends I have made over the past year or so.

Now, if I could only get through packing and limit myself to just one suitcase. Well, maybe a suitcase and a carry on. Plus my purse. And laptop bag.  Ugh - packing is so hard!

Lifes Luxuries - Your Thoughts.
By: Aging Fabulous    1 days 16 hours 38 minutes ago
Channel: Health & Wellness

Where I live, I am paying $4.29 for a gallon of gas and $5.99 for a gallon of milk. My weekly grocery bill is telling me that life’s necessities have gone up by over 15% since the beginning of the year. One thing that I do notice is the price of life’s luxuries are staying the same. I wonder why.

Could it be that we complain about $4.29 for a gallon of gas but will not complain about a $300 per ounce of our favorite eye cream or our $150 vial of perfume. I still see ladies lining up at the La Mer counter for their miracle broth.

image

If we like it and can afford it, I think we continue to spend on our beauty products - or products that make us feel beautiful anyway. I know I do and have yet to complain.

Have you cut back on your spending of your luxuries - particularly those that make you look and/or feel beautiful? Or do you feel that it is worth it to begin with and simply do not look at the price if it works? Also, say if your favorite luxury cream went up by 15% in just a few months time or fluctuated by price on a day to day basis, would you still splurge on it? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I would love to hear what your thinking on still spending on life’s luxuries is.

One of my favorite spa brands that has products worthy of more then just spa-ing is Elemis. If you have not heard of Elemis before, it is a British brand known for it’s luxurious spa treatments and their cult favorite Pro-Collagen Marine Cream.

Elemis is now taking on the at-home anti-aging body care with the Pro-Collagen Radiantly Smooth Body Cream. Collagen is well known for it’s wonderful facial properties, and Elemis now brings it to us for our entire body - head to toe.

This ground-breaking product helps to smooth out crepey skin texture, leaving the body feeling deeply hydrated with an illuminating youthful radiance.  A network of Proteins, plus Micro-Lattice Technology ensures a mesh-like support system is provided over sagging skin whilst helping to restore cell cohesion. Combining a luxurious souffl texture with iridescent sheen and nurturing aroma of Rose and Mimosa, the sensuality on application of this targeted, Anti-Aging Body Cream will also deliver an instant feel-good factor.

Elemis Pro-Collagen Radiantly Smooth Body Cream is available for $162 at Nordstrom.com and TimetoSpa.com.
