Don’t you think it’d be nice to live somewhere called Skye? I do. This little beauty is located at the north west edge of Skye, Western Isles. I really love this house. Of course the oddball shaping is nice, but what I like best is the color contrast. It’s surprisingly stark but overall soothing. Yes, that makes no sense; my brain is just thinking thoughts as I type.

Then you flip around to the other side of this beautiful house and guess what…

It’s a whole different look - not so stark, a great green roof, and almost a pretty rural farmhouse shape. Different from the side view.

This is just a totally great house. The right size, the right colors, lovely landscape, and of course located in Skye. See the interior of this rural project.

I got a recent email about what seems to be a pretty cool television show idea. It’s rare to see building and architecture shows, so it’s nice to hear about one. Actually, I got an email about another building show the same week - odd, but we’ll look at that show later.

This show is Architecture School, a six-part series from creators Michael Selditch and Stan Bertheaud and premieres on August 20th, on the Sundance Channel. The show covers Tulane University’s School of Architecture, focusing on a competition to design and build affordable, sustainable homes in New Orleans. Of course the show will also look at the lives behind the people and neighborhoods who’ve been affected by Hurricane Katrina.

I think it sounds awesome. It sounds sort of like the Real World, but you know, interesting, and the only drama going on, will hopefully be about the structures.

At first I was a little confused by Zigloo. I couldn’t quite figure out what the site was up to. Now I’m pretty sure that it’s a real architect site, headed up by Keith Dewey. There are some impressive designs happening at Zigloo, but what drew me to the site was the Lego work, which is likely what confused me in the first place; guess I figured that the site belonged to one of those Lego geniuses we sometimes see here.

It’s a nice little Lego shipping cabin! It’s so bizarre that the design concept is in Lego. Although, not being an architect myself, maybe this is a popular software, or concept idea? I wouldn’t know for sure I suppose. In any case, I was enthralled by the little modern Lego designs. I especially like the Lego Flw Container House - which you can see if you click here and scroll all the way down.

Mine could. What’s always nice to see when you need color is the Hundertwasser Haus. This place really took color to the extreme. I love this structure, because it’s so water colored, not blunt, more subdued. Know what I mean?
