Zone Diet

The Zone diet, created by Dr. Barry Sears, centers around balancing carbs, protein, and fat in a “40-30-30” ratio. “The Zone” is Sears’ term for when the body has reached the proper hormone balance by eating within this ratio. Jennifer Aniston is considered the Zone poster girl, and other Zone celebrities include Demi Moore, Cindy Crawford, Janet Jackson, Sarah Jessica Parker, Rene Zellwegger, Sandra Bullock and Madonna. Among the men are Bill Clinton, Bill Crosby, Brad Pitt, Charlie Sheen, and shock-jock radio personality Howard Stern. The Zone has its own line of food, vitamins, supplements, and skin care. Sears’ 1995 book, The Zone, was number one on the New York Times book list. Since then, he has written another ten books on the subject.Weight Watchers is one of the most successful weight loss programs of all time. The program works on a point system, with each type of food allotted a certain number of points. The approach is “all-things-in-moderation” instead of a “diet” mentality, and members can eat whatever they want as long as they stay within their allotted points for the day. Weight Watchers offers support groups and a more lenient eating program than most other diets, and it’s popular with all ages and weight goals.
